Founded in 1996 by Larry Merle, Genesee Construction has built its reputation on quality workmanship, integrity, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results. Since becoming the sole owner in 1999, Larry has guided the company's steady growth into a respected and well-established construction firm serving both commercial and high-end residential clients.
Today, Genesee Construction employs more than 35 skilled professionals and offers extensive self-performing capabilities, including site work, concrete, masonry, and carpentry. By maintaining these core trades in-house, we provide greater quality control, efficiency, and accountability throughout every phase of construction.
With decades of experience and a hands-on approach to project execution, Genesee Construction is committed to building lasting relationships and delivering projects that stand the test of time.

We believe construction is about more than building structures—it is about bringing visions to life. Through thoughtful planning, expert execution, and unwavering attention to detail, we transform ideas into exceptional spaces designed to perform, inspire, and endure.

Every successful project begins with a clear vision and a trusted partnership. Our approach centers on understanding our clients’ goals, maintaining open communication, and delivering thoughtful solutions at every stage of the construction process.
By combining proactive project management, skilled craftsmanship, and unwavering accountability, we deliver a seamless construction experience and exceptional results that stand the test of time.
Client Reviews
“Genesee Construction owner, Larry Merle, has been hands-on in all of the projects. He and his employees were responsive to concerns and collaborated constructively. They also offered cost saving alternatives, suggestions for the betterment of the projects, and maintained good communications with the developer. They sustained municipal and agency relations as well.”
— Douglas Eldred, BME Associates“Working with Genesee Construction produced a first global headquarters for Constellation Brands, Inc. to be proud of. Through Larry Merle’s leadership and expertise, our building was finished on time and on budget. It’s state-of-the-art and admired by the employees who work here every day, the community and global constituents.”
— Ginny Clark, Constellation Brands“They blew us away with their presence, they blew us away with the size of the company, & we learned right away we were getting the A-Team because it was them.”
